Project Status
Current Stage:
0: Receiving Packages
Budget Spent:
$480/$4000
Next Milestone:
Run 0 AWG power wire/Big 3 Upgrade
Everything I ordered on Prime Day arrived. From top to bottom, left to right: quick disconnect connectors, 0 AWG (?) wire ring terminals with heat shrink, red braided wire loom, 3kg PETG black 3d printer filament, 2 XLR cables, and 2 marine bus bars with appropriately-sized wire ring terminals. Check THIS POST for links.
Also included in this picture are the 18 AWG control wire for the remote lines and some red fabric I found to upholster the amplifier board on the back of the back seats. I may try to find a patterned fabric instead (paisley?).
The subwoofer arrived as well. It’s a MONSTER; super heavy. Here’s the unboxing video. It’s got me excited to feel the bass.

In truth, everything arrived about a week ago. Around that time, we had to say goodbye to our cat Ollie. Here is a picture of him sleeping with his ear pressed up against my subwoofer. Ollie and our other cat, Aleks, both loved bass. We had to say goodbye to Aleks less than two months ago. It’s been real rough. I started this project in part to memorialize Aleks. Both our kitties let me kiss their noses, so I planned to use his noseprint in the design. With Ollie’s passing, I thought I would incorporate his noseprint as well. I’m keeping the location of the noseprints secret until the trunk lid array is finished. You can find a recording of the celebration of life we had for Ollie HERE (I DJ’d a lot of music that reminds me of him).
