24 June 2026: Amazon Prime Day Sales
Project Status
Current Stage:
0: Initial Purchases
Budget Spent:
$114.50/$4000
Next Milestone:
Run 0 AWG power wire
Today was Prime day, so I purchased everything off the parts list that was available on Amazon and on sale. This included 0 AWG wire lugs, the 4-pin Deutsch connector kit, the wire loom for the trunk lid array, a pair of XLR cables, and a pair of marine distribution blocks.
The distribution blocks are the most interesting purchase in my opinion. I am no longer planning to use a relay to control the remote lines for the amps. I plan to see if the DSP can initiate the remote signal for the amps. So no more relay, which means one fewer each of power and ground lines. One of the distribution blocks will be used to ground the DSP. This is necessary because the DSP requires 18 AWG wire for power and ground and I am having trouble finding a ground block that accepts both 0 AWG and 18 AWG wire. The other distribution block will be used to distribute the remote line from the DSP out to the amps.
I also added two 12v switches to the parts list. I did not have to buy these switches, as I had them left over from work I did on my Honda Grom. These switches will run one each to the cabin speaker amp and the trunk lid array amp. This will allow me to switch between daily driver mode and DJ mode. I may include a third switch for the sub, mostly for the looks of a 3-switch control panel.
I am already suspicious that the wire lugs I got are too small. That’s probably $6.50 down the drain, but we’ll see. I believe I only need 4 lugs, 3 for the big 3 upgrade and 1 for the ground block.
The 4-pin Deutsch connector kit is for the quick-disconnect on the enclosure for the midbass drivers. The listing said it accepts 14 AWG. Hopefully the listing is accurate.
The wire loom I got is red. It is 1″ diameter to allow for future accessory wiring on the trunk.
The XLR cables are to go from my DDJ-SR2 to the XLR pass through on the trunk. I got Neutrik because they were on sale and the pass through I’m looking at is also Neutrik. The brand match should make the connection snug.
I’m very excited that this project is starting to come together.
Haul pics coming soon.
